From Papyri to the KJV: Translation of the English Bible
Kent Hoggatt will lead a group to The University of Michigan Special Collections Library, which houses one of the world’s finest antiquity collections including “From Papyri to King James: The Evolution of the English Bible.”
Important segments of the exhibit include medieval art that accompanies some of
the copies, many ancient documents, and Bibles in chronological order up to the 1611 KJV. A page from the Guttenberg Bible and other ancient writings will be displayed.
During the Seminar’s open time on Tuesday afternoon (May 22nd) Kent takes a group to Ann Arbor for a private viewing from 2 - 3:30 pm, returning to the Seminar in time for the evening’s dinning experience.

Henry Ford Museum
The Henry Ford is the history destination that brings the American Experience to life. With a rich and diverse offering of exhibits, demonstrations, programs and reenactments, The Henry Ford celebrates yesterday’s traditions as well as today’s innovations. On Tuesday afternoon a group will visit one of the region’s most interesting sites.
Housing one of the largest collections of its kind ever assembled, The Henry Ford Museum/Green Field Village showcases in America’s largest indoor/outdoor museum complex the people and ideas that have fired our imaginations and changed our lives.
Exhibits of interest include the “Kennedy Car” the “Lincoln Chair” as well as the Montgomery city bus that Rosa Parks rode on December 1, 1955 that initiated a new era in freedom and equality.

Russ Bone’s 10th Annual Golf Tourney
Our annual golf outing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, 12:15 pm tee off, at the Copper Hills Golf Course. The cost is $45 per person, covering 18 holes, electric cart and prizes! Around Town
If you are coming early to the Sermon Seminar or wish to delay your return home, the Rochester area features several cultural activities. If you arrive a day early, you might see the 2006 World Series re-match! The St. Louis Cardinals are in town that weekend (May 18-20) for inter-league games! Take a look at the Tiger schedule at Detroit Tigers or see Detroit Tigers 2007 game schedule. Of interest is the Detroit Institute of Arts with over 100 galleries featuring 5,000 years of world famous art treasures. A most significant feature in the Detroit area is the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. For fans of the automobile, the Ford Rouge Factory Tour and Automotive Hall of Fame are important experiences. Depending on cultural tastes, one might consider Meadow Brook Hall, the Detroit Zoo or the Eastern Market which boasts the largest flower bedding market in the country. While you are here, a stroll through the lovely Downtown Rochester provides both relaxing and fine dining opportunities.
