INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE
EMPLOYEE GROUP: LIESP Contract
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Special Education Department – Mary Bradley’s Classroom
LOCATION: Education and Technology Center
SUPERVISOR(S): Coordinator of Special Education Programs and Services
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Ability to communicate with students and staff
3. Ability to work with students demonstrating challenging behaviors
4. Ability to help develop and implement lesson plans and activities for students
5. Proficient in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) skills
6. Good attendance
7. Physical stamina required to lift students and perform essential job functions
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supports instructional activities with students under the direction of the classroom teacher
2. Monitors student activities and behavior; supports teacher’s classroom management system, including behavior management plans and techniques
3. Assists teacher with clerical duties, such as record keeping, attendance, bulletin boards, etc. and maintenance of classroom organization and order
4. Assists with loading and unloading of students on the buses
5. Assists and/or instructs students with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene objectives as required
6. Provides medical assistance to students as required
7. Lifts or assists with lifting students as required
8. Positively represent the ISD and its constituent districts
9. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
WAGE: $13.57 – $20.17
DAYS & HOURS: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
FRINGES: In accordance with the LIESP Contract
STARTING DATE: As-Soon-As Possible
