EMPLOYEE GROUP: Non-Represented Support Staff
DEPARTMENT: Special Education and Information Systems
LOCATION: Administration Building
SUPERVISOR(S): Director of Special Education and Information Systems Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred
2. Work Experience:
a. Required: 3-5 years in a comparable capacity
b. Preferred: 3-5 years in a school setting/education environment in a comparable capacity
3. Knowledge (preferred):
a. CEPI Applications (i.e., MSDS, REP, FID, and SID)
b. Information Management Systems – Student, Finance, and Payroll (e.g., EasyIEP, CIMS, PowerSchool, and/or Synergy)
c. IBM iSeries Systems
4. Skills: Possesses excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Abilities: Is able to prioritize; work independently, as well as part of a team; conduct self in a professional, respectful, and civil manner at all times; perform basic math calculations; and maintain confidentiality, composure in difficult situations, and accurate records and reports
6. Character: Possesses a positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and trustworthiness
7. Other: Is detail-oriented; technologically confident (especially in use of Microsoft Office products); proficient in use of standard office equipment; innovative and willing to recommend ways to improve processes; assertive and willing to assume leadership role when appropriate, and is not afraid of change or learning new things
8. Has the physical stamina necessary to perform the essential job duties and responsibilities
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide support to Administrators and Non-Represented Professional Staff, including the following: typing and word processing, filing, copying, faxing, process mail, schedule meetings and appointments, prepare for meetings/events; prepare correspondence and other office documents, such as flyers, brochures, and pamphlets; prepare and submit travel paperwork and make travel arrangements; prepare and submit reports when appropriate; manage and keep up-to-date website for assigned areas
2. Assist with the planning and organizing of events (e.g., workshops, in-services, and trainings)
3. Provide support to local district and ISD personnel on:
a. Information Management Systems – Student, Finance, and Payroll
b. IBM iSeries Systems
4. Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings with local district Special Ed secretaries
5. Coordinate and/or manage the following:
a. ISD Special Ed Grants
b. Lapeer County Special Ed Personnel Inventory and Teacher Approval
c. Lapeer County Homebound/Hospitalized
d. Lapeer County Medicaid Administrative Outreach
e. Lapeer County Fee-for-Service Medicaid Billing
6. Positively represent the ISD and its constituent districts
7. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
WAGE/SALARY: Based on qualifications and experience

DAYS & HOURS: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
