Job title: Human Resource Intern / Co-Op
Status: Part time hourly
Hours: During the summer, you may be asked to work any day of the week, up to 40 hours per week.
Majors: Any Human Resource related majors
Pay: Weekly $11.00 – $13.00 hr. dependant on educational level, prior experience and availability.
COMPANY INFORMATION: With over 1,400 stores, Speedway LLC ranks as one of the largest company-owned and operated chains of gasoline and convenience stores. Our stores are located throughout the Midwest with approximately 300 stores in the state of Michigan.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Human Resource intern will spend the summer working with the Region Human Resource Generalist as well as with the Recruiting Department. The intern will be able to shadow these individuals and spend time learning their roles and responsibilities. After training, the intern may be given some projects to complete on their own including but not limited to wage surveys, job fairs and other HR related projects. In addition, there may be some light clerical work involved.
POSITION GOAL: To give the intern an inside look at Human Resources, Speedway Operations and our company in general. This position could be a stepping-stone into the District Manager Trainee position, possible Recruiting position or other entry level positions at Speedway.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle and be a Junior or Senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
