Job title: Field Management Internship / Co-Op
Status: Part time hourly
Hours: Flexible during the school year but a minimum of 2 days per week. During the summer, you may be asked to work any day of the week, up to 40 hours per week.
Majors: Any Business degree
Pay: Weekly $10.00 – $13.00 hr. dependant on educational level, prior experience and availability.
COMPANY INFORMATION: With over 1,400 stores, Speedway LLC ranks as one of the largest company-owned and operated chains of gasoline and convenience stores. Our stores are located throughout the Midwest with approximately 300 stores in the state of Michigan.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The field intern will begin by working with a Store Manager in a store, they will need to learn and become proficient on a number of store operations including but not limited to: Register / Lottery operation, legal sales of tobacco products, cash handling, inventory control, customer service. The Intern will need to learn store reporting, vendor relations and product receiving, inventory auditing, merchandising and quality execution of store programs. While working in the store an intern will be required to work the same hours as the Store Manager.
Once the Intern has achieved an understanding of store operations they will begin to work with a District Manager executing operational visits and company programs.
POSITION GOAL: To give the intern an inside look at operations and a thorough understanding of the District Manager position. This position is a stepping-stone into the District Manager Trainee position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle, Sophomore, Junior or Senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
