GURUKUL MONTESSORI, an Indian/American Montessori preschool in Troy, is expanding and is seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood professional to join its staff.
Position: Lead Teacher for Montessori preschool room (ages 2 ½ -6 years old)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Montessori certification from AMI or AMS or MACTE approved training institution
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to complete immediately)
• Attend professional development training yearly to update skills/knowledge
• Able to work with families of different cultures and religions
• Knowledge of Early Childhood problem-solving & discipline techniques
• Knowledge of DAP & best practices in Early Childhood
• Experience working with children
• Patience, kindness, generosity, flexibility
• Able to work with other adults in a school setting
• Knowledge of effective parent communication (i.e., face to face and newsletters)
• Willing to learn and grow professionally
Helpful:
• 18+ credits of Early Childhood coursework in an accredited program, with passing grades of B- or higher
• Associate’s degree, CDA or higher in Early Childhood or related field
• Blood Borne Pathogen training
• Early Childhood Administration class or CEUs in Administration courses
• Familiar with using the internet to locate resources, MS Word
Our school is connected to the Temple but we are open to candidates of any religious or ethnic background. Teaching Hinduism is NOT required. Position requires 30-40 hours/week, M-F.
