Warrior Adventures

Alumni gatherings allow former students to reconnect and once again enjoy one another’s company. A pilot Warrior Adventures program is being launched this summer. Similar activities will be planned in other areas where sufficient numbers of alumni are located. Reserve now to participate in one of this summer’s Warrior Adventures!

Detroit Zoo Family Day

Whether you are single or have a house full of kids, join us for our Detroit Zoo Family Day on Saturday, June 8, 2013. With our group rate, tickets are $12 for adults (15+ yrs) and $7 for children (2-14 yrs). Infants are admitted free. Those with season passes to the zoo are invited to join us as well.

We will begin the day at the zoo when it opens at 9:00 a.m. Everyone will be able to visit the exhibits on their own until lunch time. We have rented a picnic area with a tent near the polar bear exhibit so we can share lunch together. You can bring your own picnic or purchase lunch at a nearby food court. We will supply bottled water and cookies. The picnic area will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for lunch. During that time we will have door prize drawings for those who are present. Everyone will then be able to once again visit the exhibits on their own until the zoo closes at 5:00 p.m.

Reservation Deadline: May 30, 2013.

Detroit Tigers Night

A special night has been planned at Comerica Park on Friday, June 21, 2013. Event tickets are available for $48 each and include a Tigers game vs. the Boston Red Sox and a private picnic buffet in the stadium.

The picnic buffet will begin at 5:30 p.m. on party deck 3 and will include hot dogs, hamburgers, cole slaw, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, water, and soft drinks. During the picnic, there will be drawings for a variety of door prizes, including a set of four tickets to another Tigers game provided by Kevin Stewart (’04) of ReMax Suburban. We will then move to our reserved mezzanine seats for the 7:05 p.m. game.

Reservation Deadline: May 26, 2013. A limited number of tickets are available, so they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Day at the Detroit Cultural Center

On Saturday, July 13, 2013, we will visit the newly renovated Detroit Historical Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Since the two museums are located across the street from each other, you will be able to park your car in one place for your entire visit. The only cost for this event is parking and $10 per person ($5 for children under 12) for a catered lunch. Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne County residents are admitted to the museums at no charge. We will be covering the cost for those living in other counties.

We will begin our day at the Detroit Historical Museum when the facility opens at 10:00 a.m. Friends and families will be able to see the museum at their own pace. Lunch, catered by Slows BarBQ, will be served from noon until 1:00 p.m. in the Historical Museum’s Depot. During that time we will have door prize drawings for those who are present. After lunch we will disperse with our friend and family groups to the Detroit Institute of Arts. The art museum closes at 5:00 p.m.

Reservation Deadline: July 4, 2013. A limited number of tickets are available, so they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
