Dr. Westerfield submitted his official resignation to the trustees this week and made his announcement to the faculty and staff during a meeting today. He plans to remain at Rochester College as a tenured professor of English. <br /><br /> "My five years as president of Rochester College have been both challenging and gratifying. Our trustees, donors, faculty, staff and students are some of the most dedicated and committed individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This college will thrive because of their strength and perseverance," said Westerfield, who served as provost before becoming the seventh president. "My love for Rochester College is well-known. I believe the time has come for a new president who will move the school to a new level of academic excellence in Christian community.
