Concert Band to Perform Tuesday, Dec. 2

Rochester College’s Music Department will present a concert featuring the Rochester College Concert Band, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The 70-member Rochester College Concert Band includes undergraduates and faculty, students from other area colleges, advanced high school musicians and adult community members.

RC's A Cappella Chorus has debuted a new album on iTunes. "Saints Bound for Heaven" features 12 inspirational songs, including "How Can I Keep From Singing," "Lord, Make Me Thine Instrument" and "Great Day." The complete album can be purchased for $9.99 or individual songs for 99 cents each.

Basketball Hosts Classic To Support ALS Research

RC basketball teams will be hosting the Travis Bass Classic Homecoming Weekend Oct. 23-25. RC will compete against Redeemer University College. Bass, a close friend of Coach Klint Pleasant, died of ALS in May 2011. All funds raised through the Classic will be donated to ALS research.

Warriors Golf 2nd Place USCAA

Men’s Golf Finish Second At Nationals

The RC Men's Golf team earned a runner-up finish at the USCAA National Golf Championship on Oct. 14. More than 25 colleges and universities competed at the tournament in Pennsylvania. The team was led by sophomore Chet Ryeson, who finished tied for second in the individual medalist standings. Congratulations to Coach Clayton Bissett and all the golfers!

Education Student Wins Scholarship

The Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics has awarded a $2,500 scholarship to RC senior Kayla Brewer. The scholarship financially assists a student currently enrolled in a teacher education program with a mathematics education major or minor.

College To Sponsor Dinner Of Abrahamic Traditions

Rochester College sponsors the 2014 Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions on Thursday, October 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Niagara Foundation organizes this dinner every year for the purpose of strengthening friendship and understanding among three Abrahamic Traditions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
