Jason Steckel is a child of God, a husband to his wonderful wife, Michelle, and a father to his 11-year-old budding theologian, Matthew. He also enjoys ministering to students and their families in his role as Minister for Families with Youth at the Rochester Church of Christ, where he has served since 2005. He holds a bachelor of science in management from Case Western Reserve University, a bachelor of theology from Harding University and a master’s degree in religious education from Rochester College.
In addition to his relationships with God and his family, Jason loves getting to know students. Whether chatting over coffee at Panera, serving alongside students on an inner-city mission trip, or plowing into a teenage boy in a football game, Jason enjoys building relationships with young people. Ultimately, ministry is about walking with people through life and helping them live the way God intended. In the words of theologian Andy Root, “Ministry is not about helping these kids be better Christians; it is about helping them be what God created them to be – human.”
