All persons interested in substitute teachingin the Lansing School District must acquirea Substitute Teaching Application Packeteither by picking up the packet in the Reception officeat the AdministrationBuildinglocated at:

All prospective substitute teachers are required to attend a three hour orientation before being employed by the district. In the Application Packet you will find all the information onwhat our requirements for becoming a substitute teacher areas well asupcoming Orientation dates and times.

Qualifications:

Substitute Teachers who do not have a teaching certificate must have 90 semester credit hours from a (4) year college or university and at least a 2.0 GPA. The 90 credits must also be compiled on "one" transcript. Transcripts must be an original, and sent directly to our Human Resources Department (Attention: Jamie Hildenbrand)or you may bring them with you to orientation, preferably in an unopened envelope from the sending university or college.

Allsubstitute teachers are required by law to be fingerprinted. We cannot accept fingerprint results from other agencies or school districts pera new state law that went into affect in January 2006. All new employees to our district MUST be fingerprinted even if they have been fingerprinted elsewhere recently. Please refer to the Application Packet for further information on our fingerprinting process and cost.

We ask that after acquiring the Substitute Teacher Application Packet that you NOT turn in any forms, resumesor applications until AFTER you have attended orientation.
