The Rochester College Women's Basketball team traveled to Albion, MI to take on host Albion College on Wednesday night. While it was RC that would take the half time lead at 23-21, it was Albion who played spoiler to the RC winning streak as Albion would take the final victory with a 47-42 score.
In a back and fourth game, it would be RC that would gain the early edge behind good defense and a 41% shooting performance. RC would hold Albion to just 35% shooting in the first half. With RC holding on to a slim 2 point margin going into the second half, the Lady warriors knew they would have to continue their defensive pressure. The RC defense would hold strong, however, their offense would go stagnant with just a 34% field goal percentage for the half, while Albion would outscore RC 26-19 to secure the win.
Sam Tomaschko would once again lead the lady warriors with a 10 point 7 rebound effort and would be the only RC cager to reach double figures. Rachel Graham would do her part with 9 points on 3 of 5 shooting from the 3 point line. The Warrior defense would force Albion into 21 turnovers, but would commit 19 of their own for the game. The loss ends the warrior win streak at 4 games and drops their season record to 13-13 heading into a re-match with Kuyper College this Saturday.
The games for Saturday's double-header have a time changes. The RC Men will tip-off at 2:00 pm followed by the women at 4:00 pm. Both games will be played at Oakland Christian High School.
