The Rochester College Men's Basketball team traveled to Grand Rapids on Saturday to take on an upset minded Kuyper College team. The first half looked as though the Warriors would cruise to an easy victory as they would build a 21 point half-time lead at 44-23. The Kuyper College Tigers had other ideas when the second half began by going on a 10-3 run to start the half. RC would weather the storm and come home with a 71-58 victory.
The Warriors would force Kuyper into 24 turnovers, while holding the tigers to just 39% shooting from the floor. RC would shoot just 41% from the floor for the game, but would capitalize with 23 points off of the Kuyper turnovers.
Michael Graham would lead the warriors with 16 points, while Ricky Doran would contribute 14 points and 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Marques Ewell would contribute 13 points 4 assists and 5 steals while Adrian Schaffer II chipped in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors will hit the road this Wednesday when they travel to Lansing to take on Great Lakes Christian College. The warrior record now stands at 15-7 on the season.
