When the warriors began a stretch of 7 games in 10 days they knew they had their work cut out for them. The stretch of games included 3 NCAA Division 1 teams a Division 2 team and a Division 3 powerhouse. The trip concluded this weekend with games at Oakland University and Kent State University.
Saturday night (Nov. 21) the warriors took on the Grizzlies of Oakland University. The Grizzlies would come away with a 97-63 win. Rochester College would play with Oakland most of the first half pulling to within 5 points at 20-25. Oakland would take a 12 point lead into the break. For the half the warriors shot 54% including 5 of 7 shooting from the 3-point line. The Grizzlies would gain a huge advantage at the free throw line shooting 38 of 50 from the line while the warriors would shoot a woeful 10 of 20.
Adrian Schaffer II would lead the warriors in the scoring column with 20 points followed by Michael Graham and Marques Ewell with 14 points and 10 points respectively.
On Sunday night (Nov. 22) the warriors would face Kent State University. While the warriors would fall 63-44, the game would be in question until the last 3 minutes of the game. Rochester College would gain and early lead at 7-5. The first half would see the warriors tied 3 different times and only trail by 4 at the break at 24-28.
The second half would prove to be the downfall for the warriors as Kent State would start the second half with a 12-1 run to go up 40-25 with 15:00 minutes remaining. The Warriors would battle to within 6 points with 5:47 remaining in the game before the final score of 63-44.
Adrian Schaffer II would once again lead the warriors in the scoring column with 15 points followed by Michael Graham who chipped in 10 points. Kent State would out rebound the warriors 47-22 with 23 offensive rebounds for Kent.
The Warriors will have 10 days off before taking on their final NCAA Division I team of the season when they travel to the University of Toledo on December 2nd. The Warrior record now stands at 6-6 on the season.
