The Rochester College Men's Soccer team learned late yesterday afternoon that they earned a birth into the 2009 USCAA Men's Soccer National Tournament. The tournament will be held November 6-8 in Burlington, Vermont, hosted by Vermont Technical College. Seeded #7, Rochester College will open up tournament play on November 6th at 1:30pm against New Hampshire Technical Institute.
To this point the season has been a successful season, with the warriors earning a 10-5-2 overall record. Preparations will continue on campus until they leave late next week for Burlington. Athletic Director Klint Pleasant says, "We are extremely proud of the type of program that Coach Gutz has been able to build. The Men's Soccer team qualifying for the National Championship is a direct reflection of his hard work and dedication. In addition, we are grateful for the student athelete's hard work and commitment to the program and their success in the win/loss column this year. We will be supporting and wishing them well in Vermont".
