At Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids, Mi., the Rochester College Warriors defeated the Tigers, coming away with a 4-0 victory for the Warriors.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard early scoring on a goal by Junior Bernard Kanjoma (Rochester/Rochester) in the 4th minute of the game on an assist from AJ Wells (Lake Orion/Lake Orion). The Tigers came right back with a good shot on goal saved by Senior goal keeper Steve McCune (Macomb Twp./Chippewa Valley) to keep the slate clean.
The Warriors struck again five minutes later in the 9th minute on a well placed header from junior forward Brian Matlock (Southfield/Lathrup) from freshman defender Peter Nelson (Waterford/Christian Liberty Academy). The Warriors led at halftime 2-0.
The Warriors again scored early in the 2nd half on a goal by junior midfielder John Wineland (Swartz Creek/Mott CC) at the 47th minute on Nelson’s 2nd assist of the match. The Warriors finished the scoring in the 89th minute on a goal from freshman midfielder Cole McClure (Grand Blanc/Valley Christian Academy), assisted by junior gk/forward Steven Jesionowski (Highland/Milford), to make the final score 4-0.
The Warriors had 33 total shots with Grace Bible garnering 4 total shots for the game. The Warriors had 10 shots on goal to the Tigers 1 shot on goal.
Senior goal keeper McCune recorded the shutout making 1 save.
