Coach Ackerman is pleased to announce the signing of Allen Park Cabrini standout, Ray Yesh. "Ray came to us highly recommended, and his stats solidified everything that was stated," Coach Ackerman said. After an impressive senior campaign, Yesh was picked for All-Conference and All-Catholic league honors. "Ray is a great young man with an excellent attitude, he is the ideal player we strive to bring in here to RC."
Steve Bedsloe comes to the Warriors from Mott Community College. Bedsloe, a first baseman was the captain of the Mott baseball team where he led the teams offensive attack. "Steve has a great bat and a solid glove, I am expecting great things out of him this season," Ackerman said. Bedsloe will be competing for the starting spot with senior Bobby Stout who put up impressive numbers last year. "Steve and Bob are going to push each other all season, which is going to intensify their work ethic at practice making them better ball players." Steve graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School where he earned All-league, All-District, and All-region honors. Steve also set the school record for hits his junior year with 62.
Coach Ackerman signed utility player, Jeff Lusczki and outfielder, Rob Wells. After having successful careers under Coach Paul Hrycaj at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, MI, Lusczki and Wells are well prepared to enter their college careers. Ackerman is excited about what Lusczki and Wells bring to the field. "These two individuals have been coached well in high school and have incredible work ethic."
Los Alamos High School baseball standout Lance Fresquez is the newest member of the 09-10 Warrior's baseball team. Fresquez finished his senior season by earning 2nd team All-District honors under the expertise of Coach Mike Gill. "I am very happy Lance has decided to sign with us, he not only does a fine job on the field, but more importantly, he is very successful in the classroom," Coach Ackerman said.
Coach Ackerman is pleased to announce the signing of Fraser High School catcher, Anthony Incarnati, Walled Lake Western catcher, Ryan Logan, and Lance Creuse North catcher, Eric Vanlerbergh. All three catchers will be entering under the wing of senior captain catcher, Jeff Martinez. "These three will be competing for the rotational starting job this fall and spring. All three have the ability to start, it will be a battle until game one when we head down south," Coach Ackerman stated about the Warrior catching unit.
Fraser High School third baseman, Mitch Schaefer signed his letter of intent and is now a committed Warrior. "Mitch has the highest GPA of any of the players we have signed so far, that says so much about this young man," Coach Ackerman said. "Mitch is a natural leader who plays with heart, I can see him being a team leader in the years to come."
