The Rochester College Warriors Men's Basketball team improved their season record to 10-3 with two wins at the Madonna University Classic. Friday night saw the warriors pitted against USCAA Division 2 Taylor University-Ft. Wayne. The Warriors would come away with a decisive 93-65 victory. The RC men would shoot a stellar 59% from the field in the first half to take a 55-33 halftime lead. The second half began the same for the warriors as they would shoot 64% from the field in the half while holding TUFW to 48%. The warriors were led is scoring by senior John Djurovski who scored a season high 23 points, that included 5 made 3 point shots. Senior Steve McCune dumped in 10points and Juniors Adrian Schaffer and Tony Watkins would contribute 10 points apiece.Sophomore Stephan Henning would have a solid floor game from the point contributing 8 points and 7 assists with only 1 turnover.
On Saturday the Warriors faced NAIA 2 Holy Cross College from South Bend, Indiana. The warriors continued their hot shooting beginning the game with a 53% field goal percentage for the first half, which would help lead them to a 94-62 victory. Helping the warriors to win the game was hot shooting from behind the arc as the team would shoot 14 of 28 for a 50% total. Leading the way in the scoring column was Adrian Schaffer with 22 points, followed by John Djurovski with 18 points on his way to being named All-Tournament for the weekend. Stephan Henning and Rob Fragoso would command control of the ball as they contributed 6 points apiece and 9 and 7 assists respectively.
The Warriors will get no rest as they play sunday at Oakland University. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start. The Warriors have never beaten the Golden Grizzlies in 10 meetings, but played well against them last year losing 67-53 in a hard fought battle.
