The 2008-2009 RC Warrior men's basketball season will begin with the annual Alumni Basketball game as part of the Homecoming celebration at Rochester High School on November 1st. The Alumni game will begin at 1:30 with the varsity game beginning at 3:30 pm. Every year the Alumni game brings back former players from several decades to compete in a "basketball" game just before the varsity game to kick off each season. Former players come to see if there is any glory left in the old legs and to visit with one another to catch up. Coach Pleasant particularly enjoys the game as he gets to see the product of his influence on so many former players. Current assistant coach Brian Thrift (class of 98) says, "Coach gets so excited to see his former players, because he is so proud of each and every one of them, and the players love to come and thank coach for all that he has done for them."

Immediately following the alumni game, the varsity team will open up the 08-09 season with a game against Lambton College from Canada. During halftime of the game Coach Pleasant will be honored for his recent induction into the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) Hall of Fame. Coach Pleasant has a career record of 647-359 with 586 of those wins coming while at the helm of the Warrior men's basketball program.
