Warriors Drop Tough One To Spring Arbor University

Host Rochester College men’s soccer team lost to NAIA Spring Arbor University 3-1, at their home field at Ultimate Sports Arenas in Pontiac, Mi.

In a back and forth, evenly played, physical match, the Spring Arbor Cougars defeated the Rochester College Warriors 3-1. The Warriors took an 1-0 lead at halftime with the teams leading scorer, senior Ibrahim Foryoh, scoring his 10th goal of the season of an assist from freshman midfielder Justin Miller (Dakota) his 5th assist of the season.

The Warriors outshot the Cougars in the 1st half 9 to 8, with sophomore goal keeper Brain Matlock (Southfield Lathrup) making 3 saves.

Spring Arbor gained momentum and took control of the tempo of the match in the 2nd half winning most of the possessions and pressuring the Warriors into losing possessions.

The Cougars broke through on a free kick to tie the game and scored two more 2nd half goals to take the match 3-1. The Cougars outshot the Warriors in the 2nd half 12 to 4 and for the game 20 to 13.

Senior Foryoh, and sophomore Jon Rokowski (Chippewa Valley) were consistently outstanding throughout the match. Rokowski displayed excellent sportsmanship in a very physical, foul filled match.

The Warriors record now stands at 9-7-2.

The Warriors will next battle UM Dearborn, Saturday 10/25 at Borden Park at 2:00pm.
