Warriors Continue to Reload for 2009

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI - Rochester College head baseball coach Brett Crawford has announced the signings of seven student-athletes to begin their tenure in the fall.

Matt Marinelli, a left-handed outfielder from Pickering, Ontario, prepped at St. Mary's Catholic High School. Marinelli, a planned communications major, plays for the Ontario Prospects organization, where in 2007 he batted .362 with 12 doubles, 7 triples, and 20 stolen bases. "Matt fits our program well. He is an excellent talent, good work ethic, with a quality family foundation, and has proven himself as a student," Crawford expressed.

Marc Arsenault, a 6'6" first baseman has been part of the Ontario Blue Jays organization. Coach Crawford commented, "Marc comes from a very solid baseball background and a supportive family. I am looking forward to his development on the baseball field throughout his time at Rochester."

Ron Sulewski is a middle infielder and right handed pitcher from Royal Oak High School. Ron shut down top ranked Lake Orion High School last week on the mound, holding them to only two hits. "Ron gives us that much needed middle infielder that can contribute both offensively and defensively. With hard work, Ron has a very good shot at starting for the next four years," Crawford expressed.

Antiwan Jackson, a 6'0" corner infielder from Indianapolis, IN, is a junior college transfer from Ancilla College. Coach Kosmerick commented, "Antiwan provides us with a great glove and a solid bat. He should be able to provide some excitement."

Jamal Doggett is an outfield transfer from the Houston Community College system. Jamal will be competing this summer in the Canadian-American League with the Detroit Metro Tigers Organization. "With the loss of our senior All-American center fielder, we feel Jamal has the opportunity to fill the void without the program losing a step," Crawford said.

Coletyn Charlton, a 6'0" middle infielder from Centreville, VA, has prepped at Westfield High School. Kosmerick remarked, "Charlton is a solid athlete that has performed both on the baseball and football fields. He also brings academic accomplishments that should bode well as he transitions into college."

Alan Kulaga, a right-handed pitcher from Oley, PA, prepped at Oley Valley High School. Kulaga finished his high school career with a 38-6 record and a 2.14 ERA. "Alan is another product of our successful recruiting expanding our reach to different regions. He brings a solid baseball background and also will be a success in the classroom," Crawford noted.
