The Warriors improved their record to 6-3-6 with a 7-0 victory over the Falcons of Taylor University.
Senior midfielder Jason Labbate (Boone, Ia.) opened the scoring early for the Warriors, scoring his 2nd goal of the season on a back post run, assisted by freshman Scott Rourke (Fenton).
Junior midfielder Chris Hall (UK) scored 2 of his 3 goals of the game in succession, assisted by senior Josh Hickey (Troy Athens), and senior striker Jamie Whitehead (UK), to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead. Freshman John Wineland (Swartz Creek) finished off the scoring in the 1st half on an assist from senior defender Steve Nelson. The Warriors led 4-0 at halftime and out shot the Falcons 13 shots to 1.
Hickey opened the 2nd half scoring on an assist from freshman midfielder Jon Rokowski (Chippewa Valley). Hall followed with his 3rd goal of the game on a penalty kick after Whitehead was taken down in the penalty area. Wineland then finished off the scoring for the match with his 2nd goal of the game, assisted by sophomore GK Dave Ristich (Waterford Kettering), who played the 2nd half in the field.
GK Ristich faced 1 Falcon shot for the match, and made 1 save. Freshman goal keeper Steven Jesionowski finished the game in goal for the Warriors facing 1 shot and making 1 saves. For the match the Warriors out shot the Falcons 31 shots to 2.
Warrior player of the match went to senior defender Nick Swantek (Clarkston) for his consistent solid play for the full 90 minutes.
