Rochester College traveled to Lansing, Mi., for a match versus host Great Lakes Christian College.

The Warriors, in a change of character from their previous matches, started the game strong and maintained their level of play throughout the match, in a 9-0 win over GLCC.

The Warriors struck early, taking a 1-0 lead, on a goal by Junior midfielder Billy Wineland (Swartz Creek), assisted by Junior midfielder Chris Hall (UK). Two minutes later Junior defender Kevin Stilwell (Fenton), notched his first collegiate goal on a run into the box and a hard shot past the keeper, assisted by Wineland, for a 2-0 lead.

The Warrior's, keeping their composure and playing a solid possession game then went on a scoring streak with Senior midfielder Calvin Marshall (Carman Ainsworth) setting up 2 straight goals, the first to Senior Josh Hickey Troy Athens), an RC 2006 All American, and the second to Junior forward Trevor Wilson (Oakland Christian), his first of the season.

Hickey then scored his 2nd goal of the game unassisted. Freshman midfielder Jon Rokowski (Chippewa Valley) scored his 4th goal of the season, assisted by Hickey, for a 6-0 RC lead. Senior forward Jason Labbate (Boone, Ia.) scored his 1st collegiate goal, unassisted. Freshman midfielder John Wineland scored his 1st collegiate goal on a strong individual effort, beating several defenders and the keeper on an unassisted goal, for the 8-0 lead.

Rokowski finished off the 1st half scoring his 2nd goal of the game, and 5th of the season, as the 1st half ended with the Warriors holding a 9-0 lead.

Sophomore GK Dave Ristich (Waterford Kettering) faced no shots in the 1st half and played midfielder for the 2nd half of the match. Freshman GK Steven Jesionowski (Milford) played the 2nd half making 2 saves on 2 GLCC shots. The Warriors out shot GLCC 36-2 in the match.

The Warriors record is now 3-3-6. They next play 2 straight home games, Thursday 9/27 versus St. Clair College, Canada at 4:00pm. and Friday, 9/28 versus Grace Bible College, also at 4:00pm., both matches will be played at the Warriors home field at Borden Park in Rochester Hills.
