ROCHESTER HILLS, MI - The 2004 National Runners-up Rochester College Baseball Program has added eleven recruits to its 2008 class announced by Head Coach Brett Crawford. Crawford commented, "This year's class truly encapsulates the mission of the Rochester College Department of Athletics, excellence in the classroom, on the field, and within the community. The expectations have been set very high."
Mulder, the captain of the Chippewa Hills 2007 squad finished the season a perfect 4-0 in the conference with a 2.48 ERA, good enough to earn himself All-County honors. Mulder also hit .324.
Sutherland finished his 2007 high school campaign striking out 138 hitters while posting a 1.18 ERA in 77 innings of work. Matt was named All-Region, All-District, and All-League.
Kolle, a junior college transfer from Jackson Community College was a 4-year letter winner at Leslie High School earning All-Conference and All-League honors. Kevin's legion team finished 7th in the World Series Palomino Division in Puerto Rico. Kolle also won three state championships with BAMM Baseball.
Singleton, a junior college transfer from New Mexico Junior College was named 1st Team All-State, All-Conference, and All-Region at Arthur Hills High School in 2006. The speedy outfielder set a high school record with 50 stolen bases his senior season.
Koshewitz hit .362 this past summer for the South Farmington Blues in route to leading them to a World Series appearance in Nashville, TN. Pitching for Birmingham Groves, Koshewitz went 5-2 this past season with a 3.13 ERA. Jonathan was named the team's MVP in 2006 and MIP in 2007.
Brandyn was named to the All-Academic team in 2007 while beating the Mac-Red Champions on the mound. Versteegden also earned multiple postseason awards including Most Willing to Win and Hardest Hustler.
Senkbeil is speedy outfielder transferring from Finlandia University where he started in 18 games in 2007 while batting .283.
Sobocinski, a transfer student from Spring Arbor University was named All-Conference in 2005. Joseph provides excellent speed at both the middle infield and outfield positions.
Derek was named All-District and All-OAA in 2007 while hitting .443 with a .532 on-base percentage. Turner also contributed on the mound with four wins and striking out 42 batters in 37.1 innings of work.
Aaron finished the 2007 campaign striking out 80 opposing batters in route to being named All-Region. The 6'2 Weideman surrendered no more than five hits only once in 2007.
Beckius hit .519 his senior campaign as the team's captain earning All-League, All-Downriver, and Team MVP honors.
