Home School Student

50% Tuition Discount

Home School students who enroll at Rochester College while still in the home school process are granted a 50% tuition discount on any classes (maximum of two classes per semester) in which they enroll, for up to three semesters prior to the time they complete the home school requirements for their diploma. Students are enrolled in traditional college classes within whatever discipline the family chooses. Students may enroll in courses numbered up to 2500, choosing disciplines where they are adequately prepared. Classes may be taken in fall semester, Wintersession, spring semester or Maymester. This program provides a great opportunity to get the feel of the college environment while still working in a family routine.

How do I qualify for enrollment?

It is encouraged for home school students to at least be in the second semester of their junior year. Rochester College is interested in students who desire to excel academically, grow spiritually, develop socially, and contribute to a positive campus atmosphere. Admission to Rochester College is uniquely selective, and is determined by a number of factors, including high school or college grade point average, college entrance examination scores, moral character and integrity, and exhibited involvement and leadership in school, church, and community.

When Should I apply?

Like “special students” home school students do not have to apply for admission if they are not in a degree program or taking no more than six hours per semester.
