Hey there! My name is Emily Polet, and I am one of the Admission Recruiters here at Rochester College. My job is to work with students like you who are trying to find the right place to learn, grow, and find their place in the world- and I believe that for many of you, Rochester is the perfect place.

I graduated from Rochester College with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Psychology and Religion. Because of that academic background, the connections I made with students and professors on RC’s campus, and experiences traveling overseas with RC’s study abroad programs, I have decided to pursue a graduate degree in International Development. My time at RC completely shaped the path my life is taking, and definitely for the better!

The professors that I had the privilege of studying under are some of the smartest, most capable individuals I’ve ever encountered. As I get to know them more and more over the years, it amazes me that as a student, I had the opportunity to interact with them on such level ground. Since Rochester is such a small school (which we love about ourselves!), students are able to interact one-on-one with truly brilliant instructors- that personal attention is something students at large schools rarely get to experience. The best part about it is that these professors are not only accessible, but they bend over backward to make sure that all of their students are successful, no matter how much extra help students ask for. It is an academic environment that I am proud to be a part of.

While I was a student, I was involved in several productions put on by our theatre department, I was an enthusiastic member of Sigma Phi Delta Nu, and I spent a lot of my free time volunteering with Image. I participated in three Spring Break inner city mission trips and two summer-long internships in Uganda. I toured all over the country singing with Chorus and Autumn. The friendships I made with students on campus and the opportunity to be involved in so many of the things I love were a few of the reasons RC had such a profound impact on my life. Contact me anytime to chat more about how RC can change your life, too!
