WEB1000 Online Student Orientation is open to everyone at Rochester College; access this orientation from the Home page at online.rc.edu. Note: CEL students have an additional Online Orientation class.
Requirements for taking online classes at Rochester College include
- Access to a computer with at least a 1GHz processor with audio capabilities
- Microsoft Word processing software, version 97-2003 or higher, or compatible
- Internet connection (high-speed recommended; for videos a connection of 300 Kbps or above is needed)
- Rochester College computer network account (sent to students via email upon enrollments)
Students must be comfortable working with technology and a computer. This means working with files (download, save, edit, attach), using Internet browser(s), and understanding basic computer security features such as pop-up blockers.
Students who are unfamiliar with technology should enroll in CIS 1103 Software Applications before taking an online course.
Our current online platform is MOODLE, an open source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS).
Online registration for returning students is still processed through your student portal: my.rc.edu/student/login.
