PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL:

Rubel is married to the former Myra Shappley, and they have three children (Michelle, Tim, Tom) and nine grandchildren. Prior to their affiliation with Rochester College in 2005, the Shellys served the Family of God at Woodmont Hills in Nashville, Tennessee, for 27 years. While in Nashville, Rubel wrote frequently for Nashville’s daily newspaper, The Tennessean, and was active in such community programs as HIV/AIDS education with the Red Cross, Nashville Cares, Habitat for Humanity, Christian Community Services, Inc., and Faith Family Medical Clinic.
