Health Sciences

Rochester College is responding to the emerging need for trained medical professionals with the development of a strong undergraduate Health Sciences program. This program includes a pre-nursing curriculum to help high-achieving students prepare themselves for application to nursing programs in colleges throughout our region.

Developed in consultation with working professionals in nursing, Rochester College’s program has been specifically designed to provide the knowledge base, skills, attitudes, and character that are essential for success in this demanding profession.

In addition to a strong liberal arts foundation, specific coursework has been designed in areas including science, technology, ethics, psychology, holistic health and wellness, and cross-cultural communication.  Incoming freshmen will be admitted into the program this fall.

Rochester College also offers strong pre-professional training in Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Physical Therapy, and Pre-Physician Assistant programs. Students at Rochester College who elect the Pre-Pharmacy track in Health Sciences and meet admission qualifications are given preferred admission status to the Doctorate in Pharmacy program at Lipscomb University.
