Celebration, Rochester College’s annual musical extravaganza, will be getting back to its roots with some familiar elements, such as competition between clubs, hosts driving the story, vocal and dance performances, as well as staff and faculty involvement.

This year’s theme is social media, so of course, the title will be represented as “#Celebration,” said Katelyn Hargrave, director.

Hosts for 2016 Celebration are sophomore Caleb Touchstone, freshman Kaleigh Edwards and junior Trevor Harnden. Dance numbers will be choreographed by senior Emily Bodine, who will use “Video Killed the Radio Star,” “Everybody Dance Now,” among other songs for the dance team. Vocal performances will include “Twitter Song,” “All I Really Wanna Do” and “Yakety Yak.”

More than 50 students will participate by displaying their talent on stage or behind the scenes.
“The students are all working hard to make this a great show and I am confident it will be enjoyable and fun for all who attend,” Hargrave said.

Celebration 2016 will take place in the RC Theatre Friday, Feb. 26, and Saturday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. as well as Saturday, Feb. 27, and Sunday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. Run time is one hour and 30 minutes. General admission tickets are $5 for RC students and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased in the RC Business Office (248.218.2053) beginning on Jan. 25.
