Rochester College recently awarded four $50,000 scholarships to young women from Lincoln High School who have participated in the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program.

The four scholarships were announced at a Women of Tomorrow luncheon on May 6 in Troy. The award recipients were Samantha Miller, Kaitlyn Thompson, Kimberly Kaercher and Daijae Blocton. Each scholarship is worth $10,564 per year over a five-year period.

The Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program is designed to inspire, motivate and empower at-risk young women to live up to their full potential through a unique mentoring program with highly accomplished professional women and scholarship opportunities.

Mackenzie Rellinger, admissions recruiter, has served as RC’s representative as it has partnered with Women of Tomorrow throughout the past year.

“It has been such a pleasure to partner with Women of Tomorrow this year and for me, personally, to have had the opportunity to meet and work with these four young ladies,” Rellinger said. “All of the girls that go through the Women of Tomorrow program are encouraged and supported with their college plans, and it has been extremely rewarding and enlightening to have been a part of that this year. I believe this is just the beginning of our work together and that many more exceptional young women will continue to hear about, and become excited about, attending Rochester College and the opportunities they have through Women of Tomorrow to make that financially realistic.”
