Inter-Faith Panel Discussion Will Explore “Noble Women of Faith”
In collaboration with the Turkish American Society of Michigan, Rochester College is hosting “Noble Women of Faith” on Thursday, Jan. 30 to discuss faithful women in the three Abrahamic faith traditions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Dr. Anne Nichols, associate professor of English at Rochester College, will speak about Mary and Martha, women from the New Testament.
Sheri Schiff, board member of the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan, will speak about Hannah Senesh, a poet and national Israeli heroine who rescued fellow Jews in Hungary during the Holocaust.
Seher Kuyuldar, outreach coordinator for the Turkish American Society, will speak about Mary/Maryam, one of the most perfect women as described in the Qur’an.
The event takes place at the RC Theater, 800 W. Avon Road in Rochester Hills, Mich. The evening begins with a buffet dinner at 6:15 p.m. followed by the panel discussion, and closes with Turkish coffee. There is no charge for the evening.
