Clawson Resident Wins $17,000 of Free Housing at Rochester College
A 2012 graduate of Clawson High School has won a $17,000 residency scholarship at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Mich.
Christian Frink, son of Michael and Amy Frink, has accepted the scholarship offer and will be able to live free on campus during his entire undergraduate degree program. He plans to major in youth ministry at Rochester College.
Klint Pleasant, vice president of enrollment services at RC, said the scholarship promotion was developed to help put new prospects on the recruiting team’s radar. At the same time, he said RC wanted to “be a blessing to someone that really wanted to be at Rochester College—and more specifically—experience residential life. We believe that residential students have the opportunity to engage our campus community in special ways, and we are excited that Christian will have this opportunity.”
Student prospects became eligible for this drawing by responding to a RC advertisement posted on Facebook or sent by email. More than 160 student prospects participated.
Frink said he was “awestruck” and that the scholarship means everything to his family. “This means a ton of relief financially,” he said. “It really means that God is guiding me to Rochester, to put all the pieces in place to make sure I am there.”
