Philanthrophy Award 2011

Art and Marge Pope

Rochester College gave the J. Robert and Mary Utley Philanthropy Award to Art and Marge Pope at the 2011 President’s Circle of Honor Luncheon on Oct. 22. The Popes were recognized for their selfless philanthropic spirit.

Art, a retired engineer from Ford Motor Company, joined the Rochester College Board of Trustees in 1990. Marge began her relationship with the college in 1959 at the first organizational meeting of the Associates. Together, they have been strong advocates for Christian education and Rochester College for many years.

The J. Robert and Mary Utley Philanthropy Award was established to honor those who have modeled sacrificial service and philanthropic generosity for others in support of RC. It was named after J. Robert and Mary Utley because of their steadfast commitment to scholarship and service.

The President’s Circle of Honor was created to honor many of the friends of Rochester College who help financially in one or more of the following giving societies: the Heritage Society, the President’s Circle, and the Endowed Scholarship Society. Each of these is equally important to the well being of Rochester College. For more information on the variety of ways you can partner with RC, visit Support RC > Giving Opportunities.
